I try to make things that are home-made, as much as possible-with that said, I love it when I find a dish that is easy and home-made..not to mention healthy! This organic hummus recipe is not only very tasty, it is full of fiber, omega fatty acids and real fruit juice. Enjoy this treat, I made it a Polish recipe, as my hubby is Polish and I try to surprise him with Polish tasting food-that are not fried and covered in simple carbohydrates and white potatoes…..
All ingredients organic!
- 1-2 clove garlic, to taste
- 2 15 ounce cans garbanzo beans
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1.5 teaspoon salt
- black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons horse radish
- 2 teaspoons dill
- Few sprinkles of marjoram
- Paprika optional at the end, for flair!
- 1/2 cup of water
In a good blender (like mine, the Vitamix-I highly recommend and most of my recipes are made with this lifesaving device!), mix all ingredients-from low to high- making sure you make a slightly thicker than yogurt consistency. Place the finished product in a bowl, add an olive oil well to the midde and sprinkle with paprika! Chill for one hour. Very good, healthy treat-and would be a nice alternative to Polish Fat Tuesday celebrations!
